Dear Sir / Madam I am not intending to promote myself in any way whatsoever, but I would like to mention I was born in the Shepparton District in the Goulburn Valley in Victoria, in 1935, and thats a very long time ago is`nt it. My interest has always been towards the great Aboriginal sports people , and there has been many in the past few decades in almost every kind of sport. At Shepparton we had an Australian Professional Lightweight Boxing Champion named Max Carlos, Max and I were School mates and he had some great fights against the Aboriginal Boxer George Brackin, boxing for the Australian Pro Title 3 times. Max & George became great friends, close friends, and as we understand it, they were often seen together. At Shepparton, I learnt the Plastering Trade and was taught by a great Aboriginal Footballer called " Jim Murray " and I look back now on how this guy educated me with skills and discipline which I have never forgot , Jim was also a great foot runner, but above all was a thorough gentleman. I have met so many great Aboriginal Sports people I could go on here forever talking about these guys. I am now retired and reside on the Gold Coast Queensalnd & run my own Amateur Boxing Club called the " Palmer Boxing Club " at the Southport Rotary Youth Community Centre and would welcome any Aboriginal boys keen on boxing to call and visit me anytime, perhaps give me a call on my mobile first on = 0417 727 430. I wish all the Aboriginal Community good health & good luck Yours faithfully, Neil Mcintyre PO Box 1962 Southport 4215 Q`ld Australia.
